Discussion about loopTiming padpage

So what's this about? It's what you need to make build up loops in the mix and it makes pressing the loop release timing easy.
Most of the buttons are simple one line explanations so here goes.
Pad 5 - if not in a loop call loop 8, if in a loop call loop off manually.
Pad 2 - loop half & loop move 1 new loop size forward
Padshift 2 - loop half & loop move 1 new loop size backward
Pad 3 - loop half
Padshift 3 loop half & then loop half again, so loop size quartered in 1 go.
Pad 4 - loop double
Padshift 4 - loop double & then loop double again, so loopsize quadrupled in 1 go.
Pad 6 - move loop start to current playhead position and loop size half
Pad 7 - move loop start to current playhead position
Pad 8 - loop move one loopsize backwards
Padshift 8 -
press and hold to slip out of the loop, release will reposition the loop to slip destination.
Pad param 1 -/+ loop nudge 1/16th
image 1 not shift, not in a loop
image 2 shift, not in a loop, [padshift 3 & 4 have a colour flicker that a pic can't capture]
image 3 not shift, in a loop
image 4 shift, in a loop [padshift 3 & 4 have a colour flicker that a pic can't capture]

With this collection of buttons at your fingertips you can make some interesting loop build ups.
Padshifts 5,6, & 7 are empty for you to use, you could script fx calls if you want, I probably will for myself.
Now the last bit, the 'clever' bit, the reason I made this otherwise very simple padpage: Pad 1 & Padshift 1
Pad 1 - this button is about automatically pressing the loop exit at the right time to carry on playing from that point
Think of funk soul brother by fatboy slim, and you have a 1 loop on the last
"funk soul brother"
"funk" "funk" "funk" looping
pressing button 1 upto
"funk soul brother" and the down beats on both decks will be sync'd
Padshift 1 - this button is about automatically pressing the loop exit at the last moment before the downbeat then throwing in a beat jump to carry on playing in time.
this button can be pressed upto 16 beats early so you can press early and mash the other controls/fx to the last millisecond.

An update pending, minor fix, and a change or too.
fixed issue with pad 1 & padshift 1 not returning slip_mode on if it was on previously
pad 1 [stop looping to play at the right time] made more lenient, can press upto 16 beats before playback.
padshift 1 [loop to the down beat and jump] now will perform a jump back instead of forward for cases when it would make sense to. [if loop was made after the down beat]
padshift 8 changed to this because I didn't like it before.
down ? slip on : loop 0 & slip off & loop
press and hold to slip out of the loop, release will reposition the loop to slip destination.
pad 4 [loop 2x] & padshift 4 [loop 4x] now have a sort of loop size increase quantize for some loop sizes [1/8 to 4 for pad 4] [1/4 to 2 for padshift 4], if needed it adds a delay to the increase so you don't end up out of phrase.
[this took some work]
I think I'm done now.

And update is live, thanks reviewer :)
The 400 early adopters [brave souls] will need to update.
I've been using this all day and it's so much fun, I'm using it both on the mix in and the mix out.
It took me about 5 mixes to start getting a feel for it. And I'm still picking up ideas, I think it will need a couple more heavy practice sessions with it to start using it live.
But makes adding those little bits into a mix so easy I think I've killed off just A>B beat mixing ever again for my sets [unless I'm really really hammered].
