Following the fall in support for the TellyMedia and TellyVisuals plugins, I have been searching for a cost effective easy app which allows me to display messages to/from customers on a venue's big screen...
Text2screen seems to be a very interesting solution. It's a new start-up but I've had no issues with it so far. There is a limited (STANDARD) plan available which gives a 7-day free trial to check it out. I have the ADVANCED version which is very configurable! My favourite feature is the editable censored words list and the ability to block users either for 24hrs or permanently!
There is one major limitation though. It needs Pushbullet to access SMS and Whatsapp messages sent to the screen, so if you are an iPhone user you will need to buy a cheap android phone to receive customers messages. There is a 'WebChat' feature as well though, which can be setup on any phone with a web browser.
I'm currently using it with the VDJ screengrab feature as the output is a webpage, but have previously had more complicated visuals using it as an overlay with OBS...

This is something instead of nothing, really had a lot of help with Telly before and the costumers that i used it with were really impressed.
Does this program show pictures on the screen ?

Photo messaging is in development... there were concerns about automatic censorship abilities (with AI) so it was not made available in the initial release.
It has some very comprehensive censorship options for text messages though, and I have confidently used it in full automatic mode.
You are correct about TellyVisuals.. Don was a true gent, and it showed with his personal support for users. It is a big loss to everyone that he is no longer developing one of the best plugins ever available (along with TellyMedia).

Just to clarify... Text2screen is NOT a TellyMedia or TellyVisuals replacement; it just works similarly to the connections feature on TellyVisuals.
There are many more settings and features and it is a standalone webapp with a low cost subscription.
It works great with VirtualDJ's visual output, using the VDJ screengrab to port the Text2screen output page.
